Pen and Sword is a one man company. Rooted in an academic context in the fields of psychology and communication sciences, and with a sincere love for the phenomenon of language, a passion for human contact is at the heart of its products. In the end, regardless of your trade, such contact is the goal of all communications and marketing.
The pen is mightier than the sword, at least so the proverb claims. My personal background is a combination of both these instruments. My background in social sciences, knowledge of, and experience in the Dutch and English languages constitute the Pen component of the company. From the world of martial arts I supplement my vision with the element of the Sword. Vigorousness, accuracy and an effective focus of energy are key elements of the traditional Japanese budo or martial arts. For years, I have been training in Shotokan karate, Japanese fencing techniques and an interesting Dutch export product, kickboxing. I strive to integrate the effects this training has had on my personal development in my work and vision as a translator.
The pen is indeed mightier than the sword, but a balanced combination of the two yields an interesting increase in value!
